Child Policy

The Gite has tiled floors and exposed staircases so unfortunately is not really suitable for small children. We therefore do not offer cots or facilities for babies/toddlers. Should you wish to discuss further please contact the owners.

Smoking

For the safety and comfort of our guests, no smoking is allowed inside the Gite.

Pets

Pets are welcome by prior arrangement only.

Check In

Rooms are available from 16:00 on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10:00 on the day of departure.

Deposits.

Your reservation will be confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of 25% of the cost of your reservation. The balance can be paid 6 weeks in advance of your booking start date. A cash deposit of €250 is required upon arrival, to cover any damages. This will be returned to you on your departure.

Cancellations.

For a cancellation up to 6 weeks prior to your arrival date 50% of your deposit will be refunded. For a cancellation 6 weeks or less before the date of your arrival no refund will be made.

Accidents and Injury.

We cannot be held responsible for accidents or injuries to our guests or loss of money, jewellery, valuables, or damage to their property. We do not charge for minor damages caused by our guests but we reserve the right to charge for major damage to our property.

Swimming Pool

No glass is to be taken to the pool area. We understand the need for a drink whilst relaxing around the pool, but please use the plastic glasses provided. If glass is broken in the pool area we will have to shut the pool down until we are sure there is no glass left. This may spoil your holiday and possibly incur additional charges should the pool need emptying and/or the pool liner require replacing. The pool will be heated from the beginning of May until the end of September. Outside of these dates the pool can be heated at an extra charge of €250 per week. The owners cannot be held responsible should extreme temperatures lead to water restrictions which could lead to the pool being temporarily unavailable. Pets are not allowed in the pool. There will be no lifeguard so please be vigilant and use the pool safely.

We really enjoyed our stay at the villa! The house was gorgeous and beautifully furnished - very light and airy! Modern inside with great kitchen facilities and bathrooms! The pool and terrace area are absolutely gorgeous and the surrounding area is peaceful and incredibly scenic! The hosts were very helpful with lots of recommendations and easily contactable if we needed them! Would definitely recommend for a relaxing stay in the heart of rural France.

Maison Tranquille is an exceptional destination, it's an idyllic property set in wonderful surroundings within easy reach of Cognac. The property is of the highest standard and has everything you could want, our children were delighted to enjoy untold hours lazing in the superb pool, and the unexpected table tennis table was very well used. We simply loved our stay! The property was immaculate on arrival and immediately felt homely. The local area offers plenty for all ages. Cognac has a good variety of restaurants to cater to a multitude of tastes. Charlie and Lesley were exceptional hosts, whether it be the wonderful welcome pack with delightful local foods, or just a simple morning greet, they simply could not have done more to ensure that we could fully absorb our stay. Never intrusive, but always available to support and advise if required.

We had a wonderful time in this house. It is peacefully situated, surrounded by vineyards, and protected by a wall. The garden is large with many trees, and the pool is lovely, right by the terrace. The house itself is comfortable and tastefully decorated. The hosts are very kind and attentive. We were on vacation with seven people and two dogs and felt very much at home. Cognac is only a few minutes away. It was an all-around successful vacation in a beautiful location that we can highly recommend.

The photos do not do this place justice, it’s absolutely beautiful. Very spacious inside and out with more than enough space for our group of 4 adults and 5 kids. All the beds were very comfortable, and the outside area is first class. The kitchen has all the mod cons and necessary utensils, and the welcome basket and local guidance provided by the hosts were very much appreciated. The hosts were so kind and welcoming and made us feel immediately at home. An amazing property that we will definitely be returning too, thank you Charlie and Lesley!

We had such a great time at „Maison Tramquille“. It is really a lovely house with everything you need, wonderful garden and pool. Our kids and our dog were thrilled and definitely did not want to go home after 2 weeks. We were 8 in the house, everyone had enough space, everything is lovingly and very well maintained furnished . Upon our arrival there was a basket with everything we needed including regional wines and cheese! The owners were so friendly and warm, yet unobtrusive and whenever we needed something, it was immediately there. The area is beautiful, you live in the middle of the vineyards and there are wonderful paths to walk with the dog. There are enough sights to see around the resort. It is a great place to relax and come to rest. We had a terrific time and all agree that we will be back. Thanks for everything to Lesley and Charlie!

Wow, what a gite! We have to say this is the best gite we have been to. The saying that you get what you pay for is always so true. The gite is 5* all round, the lovely old building has been beautifully restored and all rooms are of a decent size, the two upstairs bathrooms are especially huge. Being an old building the walls are thick so the whole gite is cool even during the hot summer months but there are cooling fans in each bedroom if needed. The decor is of a very high standard and rooms massive and the downstairs lay out is thoughtful. Check-in was easy and it was great to find a useful and tasty welcome pack. The robes, slippers and toiletries left for us were an unexpected treat. The outside area is far bigger than expected, with a large heated pool and large modern decking area to lounge on with a shady pergola to eat under. We have found that many gites do not have a large dining table to accommodate a large party but both inside and outside tables are suitable. There are two garden areas, with trees to shelter under if it is too hot. Charlie and Leslie live next door and their communication from start to the end of our stay was brilliant. They gave us so much advice, regarding the area, the local drinks and travel etc they could not have been more helpful and such lovely friendly owners. The gite is just a few kilometres outside of Cognac which is a lovely small town but well placed to explore the Gironde region. All in all a perfect stay. Thank you Charlie and Lesley 🙂

We had a great stay with Mr.& Mrs.Nicholson. Magnificent terraced house to that attached of the owner. 4 beautiful large bedrooms, well appointed and decorated. Very large terrace where we could enjoy the barbecue under the pergola, a large swimming pool and a large garden. I would like to thank Mr.& Mrs.Nicholson again for their welcome and their availability throughout the stay.

We had a wonderful stay! Lesley and Charles, who a charming people, welcomed us very warmly and were available throughout the stay. MAISON TRANQUILLE is a wonderful place. quiet, magnificent,where time stands still. The photos in the gallery, although superb, do not correctly convey the exceptional beauty of the place. The decoration is very neat, the bedrooms and bathrooms are magnificent, the hotel bedding a delight ! The exterior is also great: from the shaded terrace to the huge swimming pool,passinf by the professional barbecue. We left the house with great sadness and we hope to return soon!

Very good stay in the magnificent house of Charlie & Lesley. It really is a quiet house in the middle of vineyards. On arrival we really appreciated the welcome basket and the hosts were always attentive. The house is beautiful, very well equipped and with taste. The rooms are large, the bathrooms too. We felt like home. The swimming pool is ideal with its sunbeds. We spent very pleasant moments under the pergola where we were able to relax in this little corner of paradise. We also appreciated the produce from the vegetable garden that our hosts shared with us.Shops ae close by car.A 5-Star rental and top hosts.
